Painting. Self-taught. Oil. Birch trees. Geometric design.
Caroline Liddle
Caroline began her creative journey in the 1990’s while working full time. She and her husband lived in Newmarket at the time raising their three children. Although painting is her true passion, she also tried floral and garden design and won several ribbons for her displays.
It was not until she retired in 2015 and moved to Brechin that she began to paint more seriously. Her first paintings were of barns, birch trees and beaches but she gradually moved to abstract especially geometric and action in design. She always paints in oil using a variety of household items to apply the paint to canvas.
Caroline has no formal education in art, she is a self-taught artist who has gained knowledge through books and attending various art galleries and shows. Her motto is every day is a great day if you can paint.
