Gov't Protocols

KAN will be following protocols regarding COVID-19 that are in place at the time this class occurs.

There are many ways to introduce the watercolour medium to novice painters. My preferred approach is through images that incorporate techniques each person experiences rather than being told about them in a theoretical way. I will introduce you to watercolours with a brief introduction about types of paper, brushes, paints, mixing your colours, making a wash by wet-in-wet, flat, gradated, and dry techniques. Then you will learn by painting two pieces – “Fields of Gold” and “Trees.”

With “Fields of Gold,” you will learn wet-in-wet technique, warm & cool colours, foreground, middle ground, and background, different planes, and atmosphere. With “Trees,” you will learn wet-in-wet technique, tonal values, shape and colour, how to establish leaf shapes, and shadows.
