Take 3 KAN classes in the same year and receive a $15 credit toward a future KAN class, or toward a 1-year KAN membership fee. Offer not available to Life Drawing sessions.
Cancellation Policy
With 7 days notice, we will offer a credit or refund. With less than 7 days but at least 48 hours notice, we will offer a credit. Otherwise, no refund or credit will be given, including if a student does not attend. We thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Have you wanted to try your hand at painting in acrylics, but aren’t sure where to begin? This class will guide you through creating your own painting of a bird as you learn to work with acrylics.
You’ll learn how to avoid common beginner mistakes, blend colours, use the colour wheel, and a variety of painting tools. You’ll be encouraged to use your own colour palette and you will have a choice of reference photos to use. Joy will guide you step-by-step, alternating between instructor demos and your own painting time. This class is all about having fun while discovering your artistic side. Materials fee provides a canvas, handouts, paints, and use of brushes and all other supplies needed in class.

Joy McCallister is a Nova Scotia-born artist who lives in the village of Kirkfield, Ontario. Joy’s inspirations for her artwork are her background in dance, her love of music and nature, and her Maritime roots. Following a career in adult education, teaching beginner art classes is one of her passions, as she takes inspiration from seeing their success.
