Date: Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 10am-4pm

Now that you have taken all those beautiful autumn photos, learn how to plan your next watercolour painting, using your photos as references. This workshop will help you to simplify a photograph, in preparation for a preliminary sketch of your painting. You will learn how to create this value sketch in either graphite or paint (your choice) from your photograph. Using a minimum of colours, you will then turn your sketch into a watercolour painting.

Skill level: Drawing skills and previous watercolour experience (intermediate level)
Materials List: Graphite drawing pencils and watercolour painting equipment
Students may use the instructor’s photograph or one of their own (optional). Photographs should have good contrast in either colour or black and white.

Instructor: David Greaves
Duration: 1 day
Course Fee: Members $60 / Non-members $75
