Hanging Bird House Gourd
Hard shelled gourds are really fun to work with and are easily decorated with paint, ink drawings or pyrography (wood burning). In this class you will open the gourd and remove the seeds inside. These seeds can be taken home to grow next spring. Then you will sand the opening and proceed to decorate the outside by using acrylic paints, ink or felt tip markers, or if you choose, a wood burning technique. Copper wire will be shaped with pliers, to form a hanger to facilitate hanging your gourd outside.
