Abstract and Mixed Media. Textures. Florals.
Two years ago, Melly moved to Kawartha Lakes from the GTA with her family looking for a small community to raise her children and be closer to nature.
With a passion for the arts since childhood, it was always more of a hobby than anything.
She went on to pursue her other passion, supporting people with disabilities and high medical needs as a career. With a Developmental Services Diploma, she graduated from Humber College in 2011 and continues to work in this field today. Throughout her career she has integrated her passion for art by bringing it into the lives of the people she supports.
Over the years her artistic interests have changed from watercolours, textile art and human form to becoming more fluid and abstract.
Painting has become her self-care and a way to express and release the challenges and emotional toll of her work.
